We received a call from Dr. Skarsgard’s office (the surgeon) today requesting we come for an appointment on Thursday at 10:15am for a consultation. On this date we will most likely discuss the CT scan and possibility of removing the remaining tumor. Dominique continues to do well. I think some of her hair is starting to grow back […]
July 5th No news yet…
It has been a week since Dominique had her CT scan. Dr. Bond has confirmed that the tumour has shrunk substantially but we are awaiting the opinion of the surgeon to see whether the remaining tumor can be removed. Dr Bond has been on holidays this week so we will make an appointment with him for […]
June 28th CT scan & 4 month anniversary
Sylvain reminded me on the way to the hospital that it has been 4 months since Dom’s cancer diagnosis. I did a quick calculation in my head and realized that approximately 30% of Dominique’s life has been focused on extensive testing and treatment of her illness. I have to say, I was quite stressed for […]
June 25th CT scan appointment
Finally, we have found our time and date for Dominique’s CT scan. Friday, June 28th at 1:30pm. We’ll have to be at the hospital at 12:15 and Dominique will have to fast because she will be asleep under anaesthetic for the procedure. She can’t eat any solids after midnight the night before. She is allowed […]
June 24th Some improvement
Dominique’s blood test today reveal that things are slowly getting back to normal. In other words, her blood counts continue to climb. Dominique is getting two more teeth up top and this could account for some of her crankiness lately and lack of appetite the last few days. I’ve noticed that more (what little is […]
June 21st2 keeping our fingers crossed
We went to the clinic for a check up. Dominique’s temperature is still on the high side 37.3 but low enough to keep us out of the hospital. We will have to keep a close eye on her temperature and bring her to Emergency if she has a fever. I put Dominique in her baby pool on […]
June 21st Pale warm, and cranky
Dominique’s temperature has been on the warm side since yesterday…slowly creeping up. Today it reached 37.4….38 is a guaranteed hospital stay. In addition she has been very lethargic and pale and cranky. I packed some of the baggage for the hospital last night- hoping this would jinx us in a good way. Today I called […]
June 20th Transfusion
Dominique had her platelet transfusion today. Our appointment was for 8:30am but the nurse called just before we left to tell us that the bag of platelets got punctured so a new batch would have to be ordered. Sometimes it can take a long time to get the blood if it is not available at […]
June 19th check-up
Dominique had a check up and blood test today. Her blood counts are really low and she will get a platelet blood transfusion tomorrow morning. She is borderline for needing a red blood cell transfusion and will hopefully get away without one. Dominique has been so-so lately. Really tired, and really really cranky at times. I noticed a number […]
June 12th Decent results
Dominique’s blood counts are low, but high enough so she doesn’t need a transfusion. Her ANC (ability to fight infection) is pretty much zero so we gotto try and be cautious. Next appointment in the clinic is next wednesday June 19th to have her blood tested. No word yet on when Dom’s CT scan will take […]
